Recently my phone was stuck in a boot loop. I realized it was because the volume buttons were jammed. Once I was able to tinker with the insides, I was able to get my phone to boot normally, but then the volume shot up. I again opened the inside, fiddled with the buttons, but now the volume buttons don’t work. The big question I have is does this require me to remove the motherboard in order to remove the volume buttons?
From what I can tell in the guides, yes you do. It looks like there are retaining screws that hold the button in place. The only way to get the tool in to remove the screws would be to remove the board.
