Your controller port is busted. Check the pins they may be corroded. Try to clean the pins first with rubbing alcohol or compressed air. If that does not work you will need to replace the controller ports and pins....

If so, those charge ports look very similar. If you are worried about compatibility, charging ports are very cheap. I’d just order the one you need. They are less than 5 dollars....

If you’re certain it does not power up, rather that it powering on, just not showing anything on screen (I might verify this before proceeded, you should get audible fan spin if it is powered on), then anything else you can do for power issues will require you to open the iMac up. Chosen Solution My Dexter orbital sander runs and the electric motor spins but for some reason when applying pressure on the pad, the pad hardly spins. Eventually with enough pressure the pad will stop altogether while the motor still runs. This is unrelated to the hook and loop pad not holding the sanding paper disk. Any idea how to fix it? Chosen Solution I tried to solder my iPod touch myself. I had everything solder, flux, wire but I didn’t have a heat gun and I accidentally ripped the battery connector from the pad. Should I throw it away or try to fix it? It looks like you basically removed completely the battery. You could buy a new one and try to glue it or solder it again on those 3 points....
