Replacing the glass only requires a high degree of skill and resources. You will most likely not want to attempt this (see previous teardowns). The complete display assembly can be replaced - still not an easy task.
Chosen Solution Hey guys, I got my MacBook and installed Catalina with the dosdude1 patcher but was having issues so I wanted to go back to High Sierra. I went to try Command + R and it didn’t work. I also tried internet recovery, nada. I disconnected everything including the battery etc and that make no change, SMC reset did nothing either. When holding Alt/Option no boot devices show up. I completely wiped the HDD (fully functional along with the HDD cable btw) and tried installing using a USB, still has a flashing question mark....
Chosen Solution Hello, Here is some backstory to this freezer, This freezer was in storage for over 2 years, but from my understanding was working fine before it was stored. This freezer has been plugged in for over 24 hours and is not in the slightest cold. It does appear to be making a sound as if it is working, however it is not cooling at all. I suspect this freezer is out of refrigerant, However I’d like to make sure this is the case before i go out and buy the products....

Chosen Solution Well good news I have one of my macs up and running with the new ssd drive in it. It took a new graphics card, and new backlight card, and I had to switch out the motherboard, butt it think the original board was fine. My temp cables set up. I used a lcd temp sensor wire and taped it on my ssd drive. On start up. My system is using mavericks and starts up normally but the CPU and optical drive fans are very noisy from the get go....

If the replacement arrives with no software(firmware), how do I get this loaded? it shouldn’t come with no software but if it does, download from samfirmware and then unpack the download. then download odin and put device to download mode, plug into computer, open odin, put rom into pda section of odin and flash.

Chosen Solution I can’t hear through my Iphone unless I put it on speaker. Have you taken the screen off? Check the connections on the motherboard. You could need a earpiece speaker. It will need to be soldered on to the cable. If you buy a new cable with the proximity sensor and a earpiece speaker you will lose face Id so you will need to solder on the the new one....
