Chosen Solution Hello – I have a late 2012 Mac Mini. It has been perfectly reliable since purchase new. I woke up this morning to the fan at full speed and the system effectively unresponsive. The processor was pegged at 100% utilization, with the “kernel_task” process being the culprit. My understanding is that “kernel_task” is used to steal CPU cycles to help prevent thermal issues and reduce temperature. I figured something crashed / a process got out of control and powered it off....

Chosen Solution Just replaced my logic board and everything seemed great.. got my Mac out of the dark and running again but fans are at full speed. Tried ssd fan control also with no luck. All connections seem ok. any help greatly appreciated Update (01/29/2019) its all connected as far as I can tell… I literally took it all apart again:( Frustrating cause it’s works great otherwise. i may just have to run the fans with the Mac fans control...

Chosen Solution My GE Profile Refrigerator is suddenly only cooling on the Freezer side to 28 and on the Refrigerator side to 48. I turned it off overnight, and vacuumed the coils underneath the unit. The compressor gets hot, but not too hot to touch. I do not hear any clicking noise from the compressor. The fan in the back bottom seems to be working OK. I hear some type of air flow/fan blowing on the inside of the freezer....

Chosen Solution I added a Samsung 500 GB EVO SSD using the ifixit.com kit. I put the new drive in the new slot, but with the old cable, and put the original HDD back in its place but with the new cable. I performed a new install of El Capitan on the new drive. I now seem to be encountering occasional kernel panics coming out of sleep mode. Has anyone else experienced this?...

Chosen Solution Hey all , i have an external drive that I format to APFS in stat to usb3 adapter in my MacBook Pro, when I try to connect the hard drive to the standard SATA in my mac, I can see that the hard drive is recognized but can’t use it, its saying “the disk you inserted was not readable by the computer”, but when I connect the hard drive to the same mac via the USB-SATA adapter, its looks fine and work correctly....

Chosen Solution Trying to save this one for a kid. Even with the CCFL out it is usable. Plulled the HD (it had been upgraded to 2TB), wiped the drive and installed a clean system of El Capitan on a MacPro. The Pro (2008) runs fine using the drive as an external, Booting iMac from an external enclosure, Machine boots fine in Safe Mode but not standard mode. Chosen Solution This little laptop would die if it didn’t stay plugged in, forgetting all my work along with it. So I stopped using it. Now, that Im in need of a laptop, it wont even turn on. If I press the power button twice a yellow light blinks. If I tap twice and hold the yellow light stays on until I release the power button. (only if plugged in) it will also blink yellow if i tap it rapidly....

Chosen Solution I bought a phone on eBay and this is what it says. Can someone tell me what this means? It means you can activate the phone because it wasn’t blacklisted because of unpaid bills or being listed as stolen. It is blacklisted on a database using those ID numbers if it is not CLEAN.

Chosen Solution I’m looking to upgrade everything possible on my late 2009 iMac. It appears I can upgrade to a Core 2 Duo 8600 3.3 GHz for 24 bucks lol. I currently have the 3.0 GHz core 2 Duo, not sure if that’s even worth while. What do you guys think ? Chosen Solution crack in screen still works fine but want screen replacement The parts are available online, just search for Nikon D500 LCD screen part to find them. Would need to remove the back panel to replace the LCD panel, as the cable runs to the motherboard. I have a guide to get you that far, Nikon D500 Back Panel Removal, but have not needed to disasemble the covers off the LCD panel....

It charges fine, and when i press the power button, the LED for the power comes on, and hold it turns it off. The LCD doesnt work, the Fan runs for 2 seconds then shuts off, and the HDD doesnt begin to spin....

Hi @lbaas Since you have replaced the UI check and also that you have checked the wiring harness connections (loose, corroded etc) between the UI and the main control board, check if there is 5V DC between control board connector P1C pin 2 and P1C pin 4. If not, replace the control board....
